Why are my exported files from LR not the edited ones I made?

    TFG21

Hello. New at this.  I just spent hours editing RAW photos in Light Room. I exported them as JPEGs into a file I set up on my Windows hard drive (Photo file). When I looked at the files they were totally unedited just as the originals had been prior to my edits. Very frustrated. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? (I watched the "Kost" video on exporting and she did not mention anything regarding "saves" or whatever in Lightroom post-development and prior to export. Perhaps I missed something?)  Many Thanks

For anyone to be able to answer your question, if you can post a screen-clip of your "Export" dialog window showing you export options.

Ummmm. I just watched the video for the third time and I still don't understand what I could have done differently. WHAT would I have had to select (in what section) in order to get what I had edited? (I don't know how to screen-clip, sorry.)

You need to supply specific details about 1. Your Computer, Operating system etc. 2. Your Camera model. 3. Itemize the choices you have made in the Export dialog. See the screen capture.

How exactly did you export? IS it possible you checked in the original location rather than where you actually exported the JPGs?

With the specific images selected, you should have gone under the file menu and selected Export (without any other words) and that would have brought up the export dialog box you see in the previous response. At the top, you should see Export X number of files if you have more than one selected.

Make sure the location you export to is the folder and location you want the images to go to.

In fact, try this again and create a new folder on your drive using the first section in the export dialog box.

Wow.  I edit and print from LR all the time, no problems. Once edited I would think the information would transfer (export) as-is, regardless of what camera I shot the images with or computer I am transferring to. Thank you for the link on screen capture. I think I will go back to using film! Ha!

Thanks. What you are suggesting is exactly what I did. I created a specific new folder and sent the export files directly to that in the box you are indicating. Should have worked but the JPEG files that were exported were as the RAW images prior to any editing. Sounds like I may have a glitch somewhere. I have tried the export twice with the same results.
