Just 'updated' InDesign and got an unexpected upgrade to CC 15, which is proving unusable. All drop down menus accessible bar File menu, which produces spinning ball of doom on Mac when trying to access it. Key commands (new doc, save as) work. Helpful suggestions welcome. I've trashed prefs etc.
I am having the same issue with InD CC 2015. It just started today. I didn't do an upgrade, it just started having this problem out of the blue. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling InDesign, and installing Dreamweaver and Muse as suggested on the thread, but that didn't help. I won't uninstall Acrobat Pro and replace it with Acrobat DC. I use Acrobat Pro too much in my work flow. Plus I doubt that would work either.
I believe I installed an upgrade to Microsoft Office last week but there was no problem after that. I also got a file from a client, which opened fine, but the problem started shortly after that. I have not reopened that file. I'll look at Terminal when I get some time and try to trace a path to when the issue began. But I believe the solution won't come from users hacking around on their computers when they need to be designing. Adobe needs to step up and investigate. Designers are a captive audience with little recourse now that the updates are pushed at us.
