So i did a system recovery about a month ago and today i installed after effects on my computer, but when i do simple things as just adding simple text and masking i get a windows warning saying that i don't have enough RAM so i need to restart after effects. If i don't restart after effect i start getting errors inside after effects and it stops me from doing the most basic things. I had adobe after effects cs6 on my old system and now i use adobe after effects cc. I use Microsoft windows 8.1 and have 8 GB RAM installed. I have set it so that other programs can use 2 GB. I didn't get this error before
I'm sorry if my English is bad, im from Sweden.
That's not much RAM for After Effects. Did it work OK before?
That's not an AE problem. A driver or service on your system is running amok and gobbles up all resources. You forgot to reinstall something when rebuilding your system or introduced an incompatible version. Check your device and services manager and other relevant system stuff. Good candidates are obviously network, audio and graphics drivers just as well as e.g. tablet drivers and security-related stuff.
