Can anyone provide guidance how to produce images for google cardboard?

I produce 360 degree panoramic images and videos. I want to render the images for delivery on google cardboard frames with smartphones.

My understanding is that after effects is the tool to use. Can anyone provide me with the steps/menu options/task map required to make these images?

Here is an example of one of my images:

There is a few ways to use Google Cartboard but AE is not the best softwaer to prepare most of them.

Of course you can prepare stereoscopic animation with that photo in AE but that will be only an animation that can't be controled by user (besides play/stop/pause) as it should work in G Cartboard. For that kind of interactivity you should use something else than AE - maby Unity3D or something like that. But if you just wanna to be able to play a movie/animation in stereoscopic view with that photos you can do that in AE.
