How can Indesign automatically detect/convert trailing characters after numbers to appear as superscript

I have an issue with text in InDesign (maybe the same in Illustrator, i haven't check), while typing/placing text with trailing letters or marks after numbers (such as 1st, 3rd, registered mark ® or copyright ©) the program can't detect automatically to place them as superscripted letters.

The same when using spelling check. These letters doesn't appears as mistakes or marked with underline.

What can i do for having it automatically (as it happens in word)?

Hope to find a quick answer.
