Typically, you wouldn't set 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th as ordinal indicators, nor does copyright symbol have to be superscript.
Create a character style for your Superscript
In your paragraph style go to grep style and type in
This will change the the ordinal indicators and copyright symbols to superscript when you type them using that paragraph style.
I'll try to do it. To understand it more clearly, if there are several paragraph styles i'm using in the same document, should i define a grep & character style in all of them?
You should - but ideally you'd be dealing with Parent/Child styles
For instance I'd have
Heading 1 - master
Heading 2 - based on Heading 1
Heading 3 - based on Heading 1
This means I can change things in Headings 2 and 3 to make them different, but ultimately the things I haven't changed remain linked to Heading 1.
Then I'd just put the GREP style in HEading 1 and it reflects in all headings.
Similar to Body Style
I'd base Bullets and Numbering styles off Body Style etc.
Not everyone does it but it's a time saver.
Alternatively, you could do Find Replace
Do the same as the code above and replace it with the character style.
I'm not sure if someone could write a script to copy the GREP style to all your paragraph styles - worth asking.
If a same ID doc, grepstylemap [JS], by Colin Flashman [Perfect here!]
// Just choose the "source" para style that contains the grep style and select the "target" para styles where you want to insert it!
If several ID docs, migrategrepstyles [AS], by Rick Gordon
Are you talking about scripts made by Colin Flashman and Rick Gordon? Where can i find those?
I use an amazing tool for that: it's called "Google"!
Just type: grepstylemap and migrategrepstyles
No need to be sarcastic , it wasn't clear enough what are you talking about.
I will look for these items in "Google".
Great, hope it will help me.
Yes Obi-Wan talks like Yoda sometimes lol
[ Sarcastic never I am! ]
