    Maximize Application Problems

    DigitalDesignMedia
      Hi,

I'm creating an application that can maximize and restore, some sprites scale to the new stage size while others just reposition themselves. I have a few questions with regard to some of the behavior of the app.
      1. If the app is maximized and I navigate to another movie it restores itself to the original stage size. Obviously I want it to remember the state from movie to movie.
      2. The frame rate seems to dramatically reduce when the app is playing maximized. The only sprite that is stretched is an impressario sprite and a few others all the rest simply reposition themselves on the new stage size. Simple fade rollovers aren't as smooth while its maximized and score animation is really slow. As soon as I restore the stage the speed is back to normal.

Thanks for any advise you can offer.

          Check updatestage's quirk list - I'm pretty sure there's a similar
report and a working solution there somewhere. You may have to troll
          back a few versions

I found what I thought was related here

projector:If the user moves the window of a projector-in-a-window and
you do a "go movie", the new movie jumps the projector window back to
the center of the screen. You can't fix this with any combination of
            projector settings on their own.

            Workaround:

            1) Projector setting: Stage Size should be "Match first movie"
Check "Center" if you want the projector to display in the center
            initially when it launches.

            2) Movie projector is made from should contain:

            on prepareMovie
            the centerStage = FALSE
            end

            on stopMovie
            (the stage).rect = (the stage).rect
            end

            3) All movies should contain:

            on stopMovie
            (the stage).rect = (the stage).rect
            end

Note: if all of your movies aren't the same size, the side-effect of
this is that they all end up with a rect the size of the first movie.
Additional workaround code would be needed to resize disparately-sized
            movies using (the stage).rect.
            </quote>

So, you might at least try the suggested workaround and perhaps fiddle
with some of the projector publish settings ("Lock stage size...")
Failing that, store the stage.rect on stopMovie and re-instate it in the
#prepareMovie handler of the next file
