When I process files as HDR in Lightroom CC, and I have selected Capture Date, sometimes when the HDR files returns to LR, the sorting changes to custom order. The files shows up at the bottom of the browser window as the last image. It is easy to press G and chose Capture Date again, but when there is a lot of work to be done, it slows things down. Is there a fix?
Are you sure that the sort order is changing? There's a bug where Photo > Photo Merge > HDR / Panorama doesn't preserve the date/time changed by Metadata > Edit Capture Time. That bug would also cause your HDRs to show up out of order. See Lightroom CC: If photos are merged, the resulting file ignores previous capture time corrections.
If you're sure that you're seeing the sort order change to Custom:
then file a bug report in the official Adobe feedback forum: Recently active topics in Photoshop Family about Photoshop Lightroom. Adobe says that they read every post there, whereas they infrequently participate in this user-to-user forum. Be sure to include a recipe for reproducing the bug -- historically, Adobe has shown little interest in tracking down bugs they can't easily reproduce.
Yes, I am certain it changes sorting order. I start with Capture Order and after a few files, it switches to custom order. I'll post this to the feedback forum.
