Please have a look at this thead...Re: Lightroom 6 mobile sync "waiting for connection"
Here is the main message:
"We’ve identified a shift in OS 10.10 behavior that seems to be tripping us up and are testing a fix to roll into our next release. Unfortunately the only workaround until then is to downgrade to the previous version of Lightroom. Thanks to all of you who provided details to help us track this down."
Thanks. That is exactly the same problem I have. Guess I'll need to wait for a fix. Thank you.
I am having exactly the same problem. My issues began when photos from my iPhone were not syncing to Lightroom on my iMac. They would sync between the iPad and iPhone but not the Mac. I tried deleting all of my data to start over and now I do not even have what was synced. I wish I would have seen that this was a program issue before that. I also deleted and downloaded Lightroom CC (program) again which also of course did nothing. My mobile devices show no synced collections. I hope the fix comes very quickly as I have come to depend on this.
Question: is there any work around other than going back to 5.x?

This is a serious problem and we would like to know about the progress of Adobe on solving this disturbing situation?
Would you please let us know what is happening.
My 7 Collections are not syncing the new photos on my mobile devices, that I have been adding to my Desktop LR CC 2015 for the past 3 weeks...
I have no intention to downgrade to LR 5 and would expect Adobe to take better care of their customers by acting more quickly on this issue.
That you for an early reply.
I think, and hope, that I may have finally got Lr CC 2015.1 and Lr Mobile running properly.
After poking around in hidden html files in the Mobile albums, I saw a mention of JAVA being needed.
On a hunch, I downloaded the latest version for Mac (Java 8 Update 51) from Oracle and it seems to have been the magic bullet?!
My files are now Syncing from Desktop Lr and are coming into my iPad.
Also, since I installed the JAVA Update, Lr has stopped freezing on me every few minutes!
Thank you for the information CameraAnn. If that is the solution, one wonders why ADOBE STAFF does not provide advice on this potential way of solving the issue?
I have no idea what JAVA is and how it can affect our Mac OS System?
Anyway, will give it a try and hopefully will be able to get the same positive result as you did.

I can't comment on release schedules but Guido wasn't suggesting you downgrade to LR5, but just roll back to the first LRCC 2015 / LR6.0 release.
The Link to the first Lr CC 2015 / LR6.0 release appears to have been removed; and it no longer seems possible to revert to the earlier 6.0 from the ACC.
I do have Syncing and Lr CC 2015.1 and Mobile working very well now though.
WELL, even with Java 8, my Lightroom Mobile does not sync with any additional photos that I have put into my Collections...
Hopefully, Adobe is going to work hard on this issue.
Have a nice weekend.
I still have the same problem...
I am using Lightroom CC 2015 and although Lightroom Mobile started syncing my first collections without any problem initially, now it does not work anymore, though Mobile Sync is still in active mode, but none of the new pictures added to my desktop collections are showing on my IOS devices?
Would someone at Adobe help us with this problem... please?
