I currently have Windows 8.0 (64-bit) that is so satisfyingly stable and solid. I didn't upgrade to Windows 8.1 because I can't even install normal updates for Windows 8.0 without experiencing system freezes that only restore points can cure. So for now, I'd like to stick with what I have. But the problem is the confusing requirements for various programs within the Creative Cloud stack of applications:
Premiere Pro: Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (64 bit) or Windows 8 (64 bit)
Photoshop: Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.1
Illustrator: Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1
Dreamweaver: Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1
Audition: Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1 (64 bit), Windows 8 (64 bit), or Windows 8.1 (64 bit)
So what I'm confused about is the fact that Windows 8.0 is not listed for Photoshop, but Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are. Does this mean Photoshop CC 2015 is not compatible with Windows 8? And does this mean that Premiere Pro is not compatible with Windows 8.1 since only 7.0 (SP1) and 8.0 are listed I would prefer upgrading CC software WITHOUT updating Windows since I'm skittish about hosing my currently rock-solid stable Windows 8 installation. Thankfully Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Audition are compatible with all three, it seems.
Can someone clear up the confusion, please?
I think my hardware is okay for it all.
