How did you change the numbering?
I was playing around with it so I think I went through 'Type' - 'Insert Special Character' - 'Marker'
Then right clicked on the page and selected 'Numbering and Section Options'
Not quite sure how I did it now but can't remove it!
You need to do two things. First, to keep ID from being confused about page number duplication, right click on the physical first page in the Pages Panel, choose section and numbering options, and set the start number to 1, then change the number style to something other than 1,2,3...
Next, to prevent the numbers from showing on any particular pages, set up a second master page without the number marker (it can be based on the one you are using now), and apply it to pages that should not show numbers.
I think it was because the 'Start Section' option was ticked. It'd split the document into 3-4 sections which I didn't want!
Is there an easier way to add page numbering starting from page 2 or 3 without splitting into sections?
Otherwise I will just add later in Adobe Acrobat.
If you want to start numbering at 1 anywhere but the first physical page of the document you must create a new section.
I have managed to page number in Adobe as necessary, however it will not print in a booklet format. Even though there are even page numbers (and I've used this InDesign template for other booklets which have printed fine) it is now adding blank pages which confuses the page order for printing. Not quite sure what's happened.
Is the total page count divisible by 4? Are there any blank pages?
