Flash player install for Mac

I would appreciate help with a problem installing the latest version of Flash Player on my iMac Yosemite 10.10.3. I have Flash Player version 17 and need to install 18. I have set system preferences correctly and it seems to fully install, only to then say Error. Any ideas? Thank you
