Yes but i have just solved the problem with one of your colleagues in a chat. I needed to do a left click to select the colour.

Do you mean the color of the page itself? The paper is always as it is. Normally blank, and shown with the white swatch, which could have a different color, but it should have alsways the same color as the paper which is expected to be used.
If you want to color paper via print, you have to ad a rectangle in the color up to the bleed frame in all directions and to the spine.
No i meant the page attributes > page colour.
I use a bamboo pen and i held the right mouse button down which then didn't select the colour i wanted my page to be.
