And it also crashes when I try to export as IMDL and when exporting the whole document to pdf but not individual pages/ spreads.
Thanks Peter, because its a magazine its all in lots of stories so exporting to ID TaggedText is pretty much recreating it but I think that's all I can do now.
Ok, for future reference I am getting around it a bit by exporting pages to eps (it is letting me do that without crashing) and Distilling the pdf and compiling all the pages of the magazine in Acrobat. And just doing the few missing pages in a completely new file. At least I can get a finished pdf to the client on time and when it comes to a press-ready file I'll cross that bridge when its necessary. I have a strong feeling its not the actual document that's the problem but some underlying stylesheet issue which means it shouldn't affect the press-ready file (fingers crossed).
Create a new document:
- Same size
- Same bleed
- Same Baseline Grid setting
- Activate Paste Remember Layers
- No Paragraph Styles
- No Character Styles
- No Object Styles
- No Table and Cell Styles
- No Swatches
- 2 initial Pages
Drag and drop all pages from the old document to the new document.
Thanks for that Willi. Gave it a try and it did the front cover but for the inside pages it crashed. Now that I have worked with it I think it is a corrupted stylesheet issue as it seems to be that whenever I try and edit or delete any of the paragraph or character styles it just crashes. There doesn't seem to be any other issues otherwise, except for not being able to export to pdf (it won't even do individual pages now).
Update: Still having issues even with re-creating a completely new file. Seems that the typeface might be at fault? Has anyone had trouble with updating from TheSans PS to TheSans OT?
