I have some footage in my timeline that is longer than the duration of the composition so it is not all showing. I would like to edit the ending of the footage by simply dragging on the end of the clip and pulling it to the left, though I am unable to do this unless I move the entire clip to the left first. However, if I move the whole clip to the left it will mess up the timing of other key framing that I have already completed. What is the correct way to do what I am trying to do?
Is there a way to change the colors of layers in the timeline while working to make it easier to go back and forth between ones you are working on?
Holding the alt/option key and pressing the] key sets the out point of a layer to the position of the current time indicator. The [ key + alt/option sets the in point.
You can change the label color for a given layer right on the composition window. Just ctrl+click or right click on the color square at the right of your number layer and select the desired color. If you have more than one layer with the same label color, you con select it at once choosing "select label group" from the label pop up.
