Have you turned off color management in the printer driver? I print with a Canon Pixma Pro-100, and I get very good, matching. But it's very easy to get double color management if you're not careful, and that will mess up the colors.
As far as I know, it is off. The Main tab in the print driver shows Color: No Color Correction (greyed out). There is no way to select or deselect Color Correction/No Color Correction function AFAIK. To turn off color correction in the driver from specific applications, the AppColorMatching.xml file has to be edited properly. This has been done on my machine. Any more ideas?
I guess we are talking about different printer models. There is a specific procedure for turning off color management on my printer. What model are you using?
iPF8300. It would be really nice to have that feature on mine.
Even with the feature, it would be even better to know what is being sent to the printer. With similar results from PS plugin and LR printer managing, it seems that LR managing should result in the same. I know (at least it shows on the print driver box) if I select LR manage I have to select Colorsync with the correct ICC. If I switch to LR manages, profile: correct ICC, the printer driver now shows the color selectors greyed out and NCC in the Color: area of the Main page. Well, Thanks Jim. Back to testing, just super happy I have good results from two of my methods of printing so I can get the shop back up and running. This other issue is a mind boggler I will continue to try to figure out.
What happens if you choose to let the printer manage the color rather than Lightroom?
I guess the best way to explain what I am seeing is this on my OSX 10.7.5 and canon ipf8300:
Prints from LR3.6 with Perceptual, same ICC (eSatin), same paper, LR manages color, No color correction in driver
Prints from PS5.1, export plugin, perceptual, same ICC (eSatin), same paper, no color correction in driver
do not match in same lighting. The PS5.1 print most resembles the i2pro calibrated thunderbird monitor (blue is blue), the LR3.6 has a slight purple tint in the blues.
Should the renderings be the same if all settings are the same between applications (LR and PS)?? What do you think might be the culprit?
I mostly print with LR due to custom print managing of multiple files, it's very handy which is why I want LR to work. Recently purchased LR6 and will install and see if this improves.
Any info appreciated!!
