I am a programmer of filters, shaders and such for different photo and video software like photoshop, premiere pro etc. mainly with OpenCL.
I am investigating how to get my own filters (which I could successfully implement into Photoshop) also into Lightroom but couldn't find any hint within the Lightroom SDK Guide at all - Is it simply not possible to implement custom image filters into Lightroom!?
Note: I am explicitely talking about filters that process the image content itself by e.g. modifying color spaces with vector multiplications, not it's metadata or something else..
Would be awesome if I'd get any response!
All the best,
As you discovered, the LR SDK does not provide plugins with direct access to images. Your only recourse is to implement an external "editor", which the user can invoke with the Photo > Edit In command. Such an editor is passed a TIFF (8 or 16-bit), PSD (8 or 16-bit), or JPEG, with a color space of ProPhoto RGB, Adobe RGB, or sRGB.
