LR is open just finished editing a large wedding. I went to use folder and copy the current .lrcat file to my backup drive but instead I took an older version of the .lrcat file and replaced the file I've been working on. I can't undo this action. I'm afraid to touch or do anything. I can't lose all the work I've just done.
Please help! Thanks.
I'm using LR CC and on a Mac v10.10.3.
I'm wondering if the .lrcat-journal file could help...? Or if I can save all the changes from within Lightroom and overwrite the .lrcat file...?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Do you have any backups that have some of the work in them? I don't know the Journal is going to do you much good. Have you considered allowing Lightroom to do scheduled backups? Then you wouldn't jeopardize things like you did this time.
If you did this bad drag-drop or copy-paste using the OS tools, you did lose all the work you just finished. There is nothing LR can do to help you at this point; there are no unwritten "saves" that can be done. The best you can hope for is to be able to recover some of your work from a previous backup.
