If the photos were already in LR before you moved them you should not need to import. Simply update the location.

I appreciate your input and I tried to describe my issues but I may have not been clear, I will try again.
I had to move my entire photo image file to a new external drive because I was running out of capacity on the old drive. I do know that the move was successful. Now I have multiple problems with LR CC and every time I try to fix the problems it seems to get worst. I do have shaded out images and question marks all over the place and I have now decided to stop because I am only making matters worse. The main issue is that LR CC is not showing all the images that are on the new external drive only a small amount of the images. I cannot understand why only those images are shown in LR CC and not the others. I am truly baffled. Let me ask another question that to me seems like a solution to all of my issues with LR CC. Is it possible to reload LR CC completely? I mean, delete what is in LR CC now and then reload all the images that are on the new external drive and start anew? I have tried some of the tips that the article you attached but my problems seems to be getting worse. Is it possible to do a cold start with LR CC and load all the images from the new external drive?
I appreciate you help.
Yes it's quite simple.
If you want to start over you can create a fresh catalog. On the top menu in LR Library click:
File >> New Catalog
Choose a new name and save
When the empty catalog opens import from your folders using:
Import >> Add
You must keep the external SSD connected.
N.B. re-importing will mean you have to edit again, as your work will be contained in the previous catalog.
