Branching into a new discussion
Sorry should I start a new discussion?
At first, the creative app would open, but I restarted my computer and now nothing, it won't let me open it at all.
I went into that link last night, I did all of the above and still nothing. I've had cc, for ages I did update it on Friday and since then I can't get into it. I've checked:

I signed in and out of my account, but can't do it thru the app as I can't access it.

Please try the steps below:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014
and rename it ~sniffer.exe
Then, try to launch the app.
For the serial number error:
You may also try to check your host file for any Adobe blocked entries.
In case there are any blocked Adobe entries, please delete them and then save the file.
earlier when i looked into recently open a "aigpusniffer" program showed a failed and now my apps aren't working
Do I need to restart eh cumber at all or just rename the file and try and relaunch

Restarted the machine and still won’t launch at all.
Please try the steps below:
1. Uninstall the Adobe CC desktop app from the machine (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html)
2. Set the permissions to 'Full Control' on Adobe folders for the all the users in the following locations:
a.[System drive]:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\
b.[System drive]:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\
3. Restart the machine.
4. Install the Adobe CC desktop app (Creative Cloud Help | Creative Cloud for desktop)
I got to the first step to uninstall the app and it came up with ‘uninstallation of creative cloud desktop completed with errors’,
Has this uninstalled it and should I continue with the following steps?

With Step 3 what programs do I uninstall? All of them or just the Creative Cloud App?

2 a is fine and is full control,
b) won’t let me tick full control it comes up with
‘An error occurred while applying security information to: C:\programfiles (X86)\commonfiles\acrobat\activex

Will it work if i completely uninstall all the adobe software and then try reinstalling it?

Christal yes please try the complete uninstall and then install the CC app.
Else you can also try over new user admin account.
I’ve just gone into lightroom, photoshop and illustrator and they are working fine now, and not asking me to produce a serial number, however I do not have the Creative cloud App. Do I need it, do I need it installed at all? If not and the progams continue to work fine I’ll just leave it as is?
