    Advanced typography in TrueType fonts?

    benwiggy Level 1

OS X comes with lots of TrueType fonts that have advanced type features: discretionary ligatures, non-lining figures, etc.

I can't see any way of accessing these in ID CS6. If I use the OpenType settings, nothing happens. TextEdit and other NSText apps, however, can set these attributes easily.

The glyphs are all in the correct Unicode positions, so I see no reason why it shouldn't be possible. My OTF fonts are mostly "Std", which only have the same chars as the old Type 1 fonts.
