Edge Animate - Duplicate Symbol

Maybe I am stuck in my old Flash days, but when i duplicate a symbol I expect a duplicate to be made and not a linked copy of the original!

I duplicated a symbol, renamed it and edited it adding different assets to it, but then found that the original I created from the duplicate adopted the changes I made, thus making it a linked copy and not a duplicate

Am I missing something?!!

Yeah ive had this a few times, edge likes to make a clone symbol and not a duplicate.

The best way to duplicate is to do it in the library and not in the elements. And if there is a new symbol in the library when you do that it means its a proper duplicate.
If there is only 1 of the symbol its a clone one.
