Can you right-click (control-click) on a thumbnail in the LR Library and choose "Edit in"
After right click, the "Edit in" button only shows a highlighted "Edit in Other Application" and the "Edit in Photoshop" is not highlighted.
On pressing "Edit in Other Application" I get a box saying: "There is no other external editor selected."
Can you try quitting both apps (Cmd+Q) and then re-launching Lightroom.
Do you actually have Photoshop installed on your system?
In LR open the Preferences go to the External Editing tab and check that the version of Photoshop you have installed is listed as one of the options.
If you have PS installed it should be at the top, Red Outline area.
If it isn't there you can add it in the bottom section.
I quitted the app as you said and relaunched it but still the same problem
What version of PS do you have installed? CS5, CS6????
What happens if PS is open before you try to select Edit In?
This is a new macbook pro and I just purchased the Lightroom 6. What I understood from browsing the net is that it has the option of editing my photos using photoshop but I did not setup any photoshop on my mac.
If you don't have PS installed you can't Edit In PS.
Photoshop is a separate application. It is not Included with LR.
You might of been confused by Adobe advertising. The Create Cloud Photographers subscription plan does come with both Lightroom and Photoshop. But it seems you bought the Stand Alone version, Lightroom 6, at a One Time Price. That does not include Photoshop. The subscription plan is $9.99 US dollars a month and once you stop paying that monthly fee Photoshop no longer work and LR is limited in what you can do with it
I am really thankful for your help and effort. Looks like I had a misunderstanding and you made it clear to me. Now I purchased Photoshop elements13 from the web and after finishing download I will check if It opens in the lightroom app or not. My best regards Shootistbond007
If PSE13 is not recognized automatically go to
Lightroom >> Preferences >> External editing (tab)
Under Additional External Editor click the “Choose “ button.
Then navigate to:
Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 13/Support Files/Photoshop Elements 13 Editor
Make sure you select the Editor App inside the support files folder and not an alias/shortcut.
