Is there another procedure for changing character color in paragraph style?
I changed the character color for my Style 1 to hidden ("None"). That succeeded. Then I found a number of items set to the wrong style, and changed them to Style 1. However, they remained in their original color.
As a test I then changed one of the Style 1 entries from None to a color, which succeeded. When then changing the color back to None, again that failed. What I need to do is to make all Style 1 entries hidden.
Any ideas appreciated.
The color that doesn't change is probably set with either a local override (which can be removed by Alt/Opt clicking the style name, or by using Find/Change to find the style and reapply it), or by having applied an additional character style, which is not considered an override.
Either you have manual overrides, select the text and go to Remove Overrides in the Paragraph Style Panel or you have applied a character style to the test and you are trying to change the Paragraph Style.
Yes, it was a character style that had been applied. Cleared that, and now all entries in Style 1 have become hidden.
