What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system is it running?
If you mention Project Assets, you must be working in either Premiere Elements 11, 12/12.1, or 13/13.1.
The command Run AutoAnalzyer in Project Assets does not always result in the AutoAnalzyer analyzing your video and trimming it into parts whether or not the AutoAnalyzer Options are enabled in the Elements Organizer work area preferences. Have you tried to do this with other video sources and formats and content?
Do you have the feature enabled in the Elements Organizer that comes with Premiere Elements? See Elements Organizer workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/Media-Analysis and the AutoAnalzyer Options. If you leave the options enabled, you will most likely run into the unwanted surprise of finding your video clips split into clips and stacked when you least expect it.
Please consider. We will be watching for your progress as your schedule permits.
Yes, I am using Elements 11 on a MacBook Air. (I am a Windows user, but this is the only laptop I have access to at the moment with Elements loaded on it.)
I am trying to avoid using the Organizer because I am a teacher and am creating lessons for multiple users in a classroom setting. So, we're saving our video onto a hard drive that all students can access on the windows machines in the classroom. (I'm stuck at home with two broken legs and this stinking MacBook.)
I did open the Organizer and found the Media-Analysis Preferences screen. Every option is checked. Still, nothing happens in the editor. Watched a Lynda.com video "Pretrimming media in the clip monitor
Thanks for the reply.
Let us continue this way. Suppose you applied Run AutoAnalzyer to your file's thumbnail in Project Assets and got the whole video split into scenes by content.
What did you intend to do with those split/stacked clips after you dragged them to the Timeline? Were you planning to export selectively each split clip to a .mp4 or .mov file saved to your computer hard drive or wherever you save files on Mac?
What are the properties of these clips in Project Assets where you are applying Run AutoAnalzyer? How many different formats are represented? How many different clips have you tried to put through this process and ran into problems?
After you select Run AutoAnalzyer, is the Run AutoAnalzyer progress dialog at least appearing?
Let us stop here for the moment and gather information
a. details of your intent for these split clips (thinking workaround, if it comes to that)
b. confirm that none of your files (various formats) work using this option (at least bringing up a Run AutoAnalzyer progress bar dialog).
By the way, did you ever get this to work in Premiere Elements Windows with the same type of files?
Looking forward to your follow up as your schedule permits. Keep thinking positive thoughts for recovery and project success.
