Thank you for your quick reply. I read the forums posts you recommended and followed the instructions for Photoshop. Unfortunately it did not work to rename the file from "sniffer" to "old-sniffer"
Did you checked for Graphics Card driver update manually ?
I'm afraid I am not familiar with how to manually update my graphics card driver.
What does that do, and how do I update it?
Search for any updates available for Graphics Card.
If available install it and check ,
If you still face any issue , we need to check with Event Viewer Log .
If you face any difficulties . you may also contact Adobe Support , they can even remote access your computer and troubleshoot the issue .
Click on Still need help button and select Chat option :

Thank you again. While we were writing back and forth, I did already try a chat option with the Adobe support folks. They said I had corrupted preferences caused by the update to InDesign CC 2015 and Photoshop CC 2015. They were able to fix it.
