          If you are comfortable with Lightroom CC then it is safe to remove Lightroom 5 if you are certain you don't want to use it anymore. I have removed it from my computer.

            thanks Jim, maybe you know, I am using a dell inspiron with i5 processor, 8 gig of ram running windows 7, the HDR feature is a lot more memory intense than I thought it would be, do you know how to shut down background running programs

                boggs down my pc, literately took almost 10 minutes to stack 3 images, got a high disk usage warning which sometimes ends up with program crashing
