It's probably related to the older Intel HD Graphics 3000 chipset that might not have the OpenGL capability that Character needs at this time. Do you have an Intel HD Graphics 3000 and NVIDIA GeForce 610M on your laptop? Is there a way to force graphics to use the NVIDIA GPU instead of the older Intel HD Graphics 3000?
I wouldn't know how, but I didn't think about it. I will try today and tell you if that actually works Thanks.

I fixed it!
So, you need to make the Nvidia GPU the default memory.
To do this, go to your desktop and right click anywhere on it.
Select "Nvidia Control Panel", and you will be prompted with this window (yeah it's in Italian, just look at the buttons )
So go to "Program settings" and click on the Add button. Choose Character Animator from the list and hit Ok or whatever your button on your low right is.
1 - You'll see that Character animator is selected.
2 - Now select from the bar below "High-performance Nvidia Processor"
Last important thing: press Apply on the low right.
You should be good to go now!
IF THE CONTROL PANEL GIVES YOU THE "ACCESS DENIED" ERROR:
1 - If you use a laptop, go here
choose the 32bit or 64bit version, download the drivers and install them.
2 - If you use a desktop, go here
and do the same
It could be that those versions are older ones compared to what you have installed, but they don't give the "Access denied" issue.
That's all I could find and it works for me, Character Animator goes fluently.
Thanks for the update, Alessandro. Glad you were able to get it switched. Yes, having the latest supported/qualified graphics driver can help.
and what i do if i have intel hd graphics
Hey Hosterjack! Thanks for screenshots. I tried it but Character Animation does not show up in that list (After Effects, Premiere are there). What should I do in this case, if Character Animation is not even in the list?
Thanks in advance!
yes, it is. I installed trial, it is BETA version.
yes, I am running same Problem. When I open CH it says: "OpenGL setup failed and that the scene screen will likely be blank"
thanks Alessandro, it worked perfectly without forcing the nvidia panel!
My HP laptop has an nvidia Geforce GT630M graphic card (2Gb) with OpenGL 4.4
ciao e grazie
THANK YOU! This 100% worked!
I just needed to manually add the Nvidia card to the program. This solution will help a lot of people. I have an older Thinkpad and it still worked! None of the solutions on the main page helped. This solution should be added to the page - FAQ: How do I diagnose and resolve an OpenGL-related error?
I was looking into other programs because I didn't want to pay for a new graphics card.
I don't know how to edit my last post. Character Animator doesn't show up in the list of programs btw.
I chose illustrator, hoping that would trigger something. Something happened because Character Animator magically popped up.
