The Library is useful, in some circumstances.
But if I don't want to use it and close the palette, every time I change a paragraph or table or text style, every time I add a colour to the swatches or basically do ANYTHING, the damned library palette opens up and fills valuable screen space.
This is more than annoying. ("It looks like you're writing a letter!")
How can I disable this palette?
When you create a new Paragraph Style, or Character Style, or Swatch, in the New Paragraph Style panel (or New Character Style panel, or New Swatch Panel), UNCHECK Add to CC Library at the bottom of the dialog.
That choice is sticky, and will be turned off when you create new swatches or styles.
Can you be more specific? I don't see this selection in my InDesign 184.108.40.206
Open the Paragraph Styles panel. From the panel menu, choose New Paragraph Style. Uncheck Add to CC Library.
Do do the same in the Character Styles panel. Do the same in the Swatches panel.
