More than appreciated bud, though that leaves me at a loss for how to deal with the fact my up to date copy of lightroom 5 (none cc) does not have the ability to process the files, any advice?
An up-to-date copy of Lightroom 5 will do nothing for you. You will have to upgrade to Lightroom 6 or Lightroom CC in order to have support for that camera. Lightroom 5 is no longer updated. What you have is all you will get in Lightroom 5. You do have the option of downloading the latest DNG converter (free by the way) and create DNG copies of your raw files that you can use in Lightroom 5. The choice is yours.

What James said.
Either pay to upgrade Lightroom to version 6 or CC or use the free Adobe DNG converter, convert 5DS/5DS R Raw files to DNG then edit the DNGs in Lightroom 5.
