I just spent the weekend learning web services. The best help for me came from Flex Live Docs > Developer's Guide > Data Access and Interconnectivity.
It's very clear, but you have to read carefully!
Thanks, I have been trying to read that however I still seem to be stuck. What I would really like to find is a tutorial similar to the one at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flexbuilder_ws.html but only updated for Flex Builder 2. Maybe someone will add something to the cookbook soon on this.
This tutorial has a section on craeting web requests. It's not too hard in Flex 2.0
<mx:HTTPService id="idofservice" method="POST" url="url_to_service.php?" useProxy="false">
<!-- this is where the data you want to send to the script goes -->
<!-- assuming you had a text input field named username of course. -->
Take a look at the tutorial.
Hope it helps!
Thanks for the help - I'll definitely take a look at that - is there a specific tutorial you were talking about? I think I was trying to use SOAP instead of HTTP so I'll have to investigate this side of it.
