Hi -- I'm a Creative Cloud CC subscriber and I'm working with the most up-to-date Lightroom CC 2015. I just upgraded to a 7D Mark II and I've come back from my first trip with it. I shot in RAW and had no problem importing them from the CF card into Lightroom as usual. However, I'm having a lot of trouble actually working with the files in the Develop module. Sometimes LR will just crash when I click into the develop module with those images and sometimes it lets me in and lets me to start working with the files. Even if it lets me start working with the images, however, it will freeze up within 5-10 minutes. I've spent some time googling, but I haven't found any help. Anyone have an suggestions? Is there some setting I need to enable for Lightroom to support these new RAW files?
(Note -- it doesn't appear to be a resource issue -- I don't trip over 35% on CPU load when I try to move to the develop tab, on I stay around 25% RAM load)
Try using just the CPU. Go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> Performance
Lightroom >> Preferences >> Performance (on Mac OSX)
Then disable GPU acceleration.
For Windows you should go to the website of the manufacturer of your graphics processor and check for driver updates. After updating you could try switching GPU acceleration on again, otherwise leave it disabled.
On mac GPU updates happen with OS updates.
