Does anyone know why I suddenly have a CC desktop icon when I have no CC products, don’t use it and have no intention of doing so? The icon appeared after yesterdays update (of which about half failed...)

I do run CS6.

Cheers Maris

Hi Maris,

Try running the CC uninstaller: Creative Cloud Help | Uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app

I know I can uninstall it... this doesn't answer the question... Why is it there?

Maris actually after the update, the Adobe CC desktop app might have appeared as there are some core services that run in the background.

Hi Sheena,

Thanks for that... What "core services"? and are they the reason the Adobe doesn't recommend removing it?

The Adobe desktop services which run and manage the complete applications on your machine.

You are right that is why it is recommended to not to remove them.
