Is your choice of Adobe ID related in anyway to the issue that you are presenting?

When you open a new project and go to Expert workspace Help Menu/ are you shown there as "Sign Out" or "Sign In" with your email address next to that?

Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?

What are the properties of this import with the .mov file extension?

What have you manually or the project automatically set as the project preset to match the properties of the source file?

Is there an orange line over your Timeline content? If there is, using the Render button above the Timeline, have you Timeline rendered the Timeline content before you start the playback of the Timeline content in the Edit area monitor?

Let us start here and then decide what next based details in your reply.

          Thank you.
