My composition window doesn't update when rendering, it just stays on whatever frame I was on when I go to the render queue. Is this a new 'feature'? It's like having caps lock in previous versions. Anyone else seeing this? (or not, as it were..)
That's a frustrating issue, isn't it? It's not just you though. It's everyone on CC 2015. Why? Well, After Effects is going through a HUGE architectural change and they're rewriting pretty much everything. CC 2015 is the first step that promise and and, while it's got some promising enhancements and hints of the future, not everything has been incorporated yet to bring it up to where CC 2014 was. Notice, multiprocessing is also gone. This page explains more: features not available in After Effects CC 2015 (13.5) | After Effects region of interest
I use CC 2015 to do my work with the snappier interface, better expression handling, etc. and then use CC 2014 to do my render with multiprocessing and being able to see the render while it's going. You can open the same project file in either version (since they're both version 13 - 13.2 and 13.5 specifically) so it's pretty hassle-free.
Thanks Szalam, didn't spot that bit when reading through that page. Could do with this coming back fairly sharpish.
