I couldn't duplicate your results - any settings I used resulted in the letters being stacked tightly on top of each other. Changing leading or spacing did nothing. I was able to space the letters properly only with the Justify All text alignment setting, and then making the path an appropriate height.
The spacing was achieved by adjusting tracking in the character panel - 300 for 8pt font.
I am not too excited about the justify suggestion, because this is something that I may have to do many times over.
any other ideas?
You can set the justify options as part of paragraph style so it should be fairly straightforward applying it to the text.
Thank you TAW, but I may be using it with many different words, so that means that I would have to readjust each path to fit each particular word.
The question remains: why does changing the tracking of the word force the last letter of each word to be off-center, and not evenly-spaced like the other letters (please see snapshot at the beginning of the conversation)? and what can I do about it?
Any help would be appreciated.
