I have been having issues with a book that I am putting together for a client. The printer he is using is asking for 3mm blending on each sides and each page. I'm assuming they are referring to the gap in between facing pages for the binding as well as a 3mm bleed around the pages. The only problem is that everytime I try to add a bleed I can't seem to have the gap in between facing pages. Just a 3mm border or bleed around each spread and NOT in the middle. Please help because I am getting frustrated. Haha. I have tried adding 1.5mm to the page size to force a gap but this doesn't seem to work.
No, there is NEVERa gap between facing pages. The bleed ( not blending) will take material from the oposte pages. It is ok in most cases. Exceptions are only with wire-O-bindings. In that case use the keep spead option an draw the right page away from the left side of a spread to make a separate spread for each page. But it has to be a facing pages document. And never, never, never make any gal between facing pages. That is deadly wrong.
Thank you. I really felt like I was going crazy. I don't know what company he is using and he is hesitant to give me that information for some reason.
