Appreciate help re. Catalog Backups as follows: I have many years of backups in the catalog folder in files with format YYYY-MM-DD XXXX (e.g. 2010-02-12 2236 for my oldest backup). I now have 5 years of backups dating back to when i first installed the then version of LR and on my MAC. The folder now 'weighs' 96 GB (or about 15% of my disk space). I'm keen to create more disk space for new photos. Can you help confirm that each back-up is self-contaied with all required info, and that they are not incremental back-ups that require me to retain them all in a consistent chain? i.e. Can I safely delete old backups from previous years? Thanks in advance, David
If you feel you don't need them, then of course you can delete them. Yes, they are self-contained.
I make backups weekly and I keep a few weeks (sometimes maybe 10-12 weeks of backups).
Thanks for the confirmation.
