I'm having an issue in an Indesign project in that when I enter the " or ' character, I instead get symbols akin to guillemots that look like this << and <.
However, I've checked the language settings and it's all set to English UK, in both the dictionary section of preferences and the character panel, as well as all the styles. Initially when checking the styles they listed the language as Arabic, but editing this has not helped.
The document only uses Warnock Pro and Univers LT Std.
I presume you checked the actual choice of quotation marks, not just the dictionary vendor, in the prefs for each language?
If you've edited the styles to use the correct language, you can use Find/Change to replace the style with itself and remove local overrides.
I did check the quotation marks, yes. They were selected as the usual marks, not guillemots. In the end that's exactly what I've done, removing the local overrides.
Thanks for the reply.
