Hi, I am also interested in the answer... any update?
Hey Ten A,
I started playing with this earlier this year and managed to get something to work... but when we got CC 2015 I can't get the extension to run (debugging). It shows up in Windows>Extensions ... but when I select it nothing happens.
Any help with this would be much appreciated
Are you set to Player Debug Mode in CC2015?
here it is; (from CEP6 Cookbook).
Debugging Unsigned Extensions
If you are in the midst of development and are not using HTML Extension Builder for debug workflows and want to bypass the need to sign your extensions, you can bypass the check for extension signature by editing the CSXS preference properties file, located at:
Win: regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Adobe/CSXS.6, then add a new entry PlayerDebugMode of type "string" with the value of "1".
Mac: In the terminal, type: defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.6 PlayerDebugMode 1 (The plist is also located at /Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.CSXS.6.plist)
These entries will enable debug extensions to be displayed in the host applications.
https://github.com/Adobe-CEP/CEP-Resources/wiki/CEP-6-HTML-Extension-Cookbook-for-CC-2015# remote-debuggingRemote Debugging
CEP supports remote debugging for html extensions. Create and put a “.debug” file to the extension root directory such as Test_Extension.debug. The .debug file contains remote debug ports. Developers must create this file and use valid debug ports. ".debug" is a special file name for both Windows and Mac platform, it has to be created by command line.
On Windows, use "copy con .debug" and "Ctrl+Z" to create an empty file.
On Mac, use "touch .debug" to create an empty file.
I've try to build an extension with brackets but I have some trouble could you tell me how do you do ?
Extension plugin for Brackets was set to be used with Illustrator CC 2014. (CEP_5.X).
You need to upgrade CSInterface.js from revision 5 to revision 6.
Then you need to modify the manifest.xml file (Illustrator revision, 18 to 19 and CSInterface from 5 to 6).
After that, this should be ok.
Where do I find the latest CSInterface.js file and where to replace it? I am stuck here. Please help!
"defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.6 PlayerDebugMode 1"
Seems to not work on CC2017.

You have to set "com.adobe.CSXS.7".
Hi Ten A,
I'm curious to know whether it will work for Adobe CC 2017, the current latest version ?
Sure, Being specific this time I want to build an extension for Adobe InDesign 2017, which infrastructure works for the requirement?
It's specified in the first few points in the link viz -
In the Creative Cloud 2015.x release in June 2016, Photoshop and Illustrator use CEP 7 while other applications still use CEP 6.1. Extensions and add-ins must be built on at least CEP 6 infrastructure.
The question is just to double check as the overwhelming information is present around. Thanks.
