    simple slideshow software for webpage?

    Level 7
Greetings - new client wants a series of images fading into one another on
their homepage. I think Flash is the way to go. I have done this before
manually using pictures on separate layers and adding tweening and alpha
fades but its a mare to do if there are many images and difficult to tweak
afterwards. Is there a simple cheap or free tool that does this kind of
thing? I dont need user controls or thumbnails - just fading images. I have
      Flash pro.
      Thanks.

There are loads of javascript options out there, for example:
          http://www.codelifter.com/main/javascript/index_images.html I used one from
          here a few years ago.
(warning ad heavy and pop-ups - switch that blocker on - some good stuff
          there though)

Recently DMX Zone have come up with some very nice extensions:

          or even

            Hi James

Take a look at this PIIV extension:
            http://www.projectseven.com/products/galleries/hgmagic/index.htm

It is not Flash, but really great to work with.

Thanks for your excellent suggestions everyone. I decided to go for the XML
                slideshow extension.
                http://www.dwuser.com/flashslideshow/index.php

Very cool tool, and the right price too. I am very interested in using the
others for some other forthcoming projects though where I need a bit more
                flexibility.
                Cheers.
