What kind of horrible company forces a user to call in to cancel, and then pretends like it's okay to charge a cancellation fee for a contract term that they unilaterally renewed "automatically"?
I thought it might help to clarify the difference in the payment plans and prices for the Creative Cloud Complete plan.
The annual plan is discounted because you make a commit for an entire year, even though you are making the payments monthly. Because you get a cheaper price than the monthly plan, there is a penalty for cancelling early. (It works similar to many cell phone plans where you can have no commit and a higher monthly rate or a longer commit and a lower rate)

The monthly plan costs a little more, but can be cancelled any month. Subscriptions renew monthly/annually depending on the plan until they are cancelled.
