I have created an InDesign document, which collates a group of template illustrator files, with them placed onto each individual page of the document.
I want to copy this master document (and relative ai files) and rename this document to the specific task that it will be used for.
Is there a way when I copy the indesign file, it relates to the copied 'placed' ai files rather than the master templates I have created previously?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Use File > Package.. to copy both the .indd and the links and to update the links in the copy to the new copies of the links.
But honestly, unless you are moving these links to a new computer this is not necessary, or even necessarily a good idea unless you plan on editing the linked files for just the copy. Having multiple identical copies of links is a waste of space and means you have to edit all of them if the need to updated in the future.
