I have an mc on the screen. I want people to be able to make draggable copies of it, so that when someone clicks on it and then drags, instead of the original getting dragged a clone of it is dragged. I want this to be able to happen multiple times, to make multiple copies.
The idea is that they will use the mc as a measuring device, to see how many copies of the mc it takes to fill up a specific area on the screen.
I have tried out a few things but so far to no effect, and I have yet to find a clear explanation of how to do this online anywhere.
I am sure it is very simple once you know how...
If you can help, thanks!
Having the new block follow the mouse around is it's own challenge, but to get you started with a movieclip on stage that will add another one when you click it, and that new one will add another when when it's clicked too, try this script:
this.block.mouseChildren = false;
var self = this;
var anotherblock = new lib.masterblock();
anotherblock.x = e.stageX;
anotherblock.y = e.stageY;
In the library there would be a movieclip with a linkage of "masterblock" in this case, and a copy of that is on stage, with an instance name of "block".
Thanks very much,
Saved me a gallon of time!
