Could you please click on bootstrap.css in the related files panel and check which version is shown there ? like the screenshot below.
If the version is same then please let me know how you linked your css and js file to your page?
Did you use your own file or file created by DW ? Could you please confirm if you are getting this error with a specific component or with all the bootstrap components ?
Also share the screenshots of the error for better understanding.
Thanks for your reply.
This is the BS version that I use:
There's a link to the BS stylesheet in the head of the page (it's my own file):
And to the BS JS just before the ending body tag:
I get the error when clicking on all of the BS components, like so:
And even when I click 'Yes' and install the new files, the warning keeps coming back and I can't use any of the components through the menu. Except by hand coding of course.
What happens if you click YES?
When I click 'Yes' new css & js files get installed from DW. When I click a component again, the message returns, etc.

OK. Try pasting this code into a new, blank document. SaveAs BStest.html and try to insert a component.

I'm new to this forum. I have the exact same problem as listed here but am unable to reset preferences via the Dreamweaver.exe file. In following the directions, I do not have an .exe file. Did something not download properly? Also, I already have CS4 on my computer and also use Project VII extensions on some existing websites. Compatibility issue?
Which version of DW?
Which operating system?
Preferences are in hidden folders on your OS.
To view them, you need to show "hidden files and folders" in your OS's File Manager (Win Explorer or Mac Finder).
Original Dreamweaver was CS4; download today is CC 2015. OS is Windows 7.
Are you working within a defined Local Site folder in CC 2015?
Yes. I set it up as I have many other Dreamweaver sites (I think...now I'm questioning). New site, selected local folder, created new html page with bootstrap (not from template), named it index.html. Clicked in body, tried to add fluid container...got error message.
Any ideas? Just tried it again and get same error every time I try to add Bootstrap component. Thanks in advance...super frustrating when learning a new system and can't get past the basics!
Are you in Live View or Design View.
Restoring Dreamweaver preferences seems to be the answer to everything. I'm getting pretty sick of having to set up my work space every time there's a DW bug. Surely Adobe can store workspace and UI preferences separately from the inner workings of the application to avoid such nastiness. It's like saying the doorknob's broken so demolish the house and rebuild....
I've got same problem here. Is this already solved? Anyone?
"The component is not fully compatible with the current Bootstrap CSS/JS file (lower than v3.0)..."
So as to not have confusing answers to apparently similar problems, please start a new topic.
As you can see, the original poster does have a satisfactory solution.
This does not work in every instance.
I have restored my Dreamweaver preferences on two machines but still get the same error message.
