    Shockwave keep active like Java

Is anyone aware of a way to keep Shockwave active in a similar way to Java's Virtual Machine where the first instance of Java starts the Virtual Machine and subsequent calls to different Java applets then launch quickly.

I have a project where I have several html/asp pages that contain shockwave movies and each time one of these is accessed there is a substantial delay before the Shockwave instance starts. I am using a stud movie to display a loading message and have minimised the content, embeded xtras and everything else I can think. The stud movie is 5k but still takes 5 seconds to launch. This may not sound like much but it is on a touchscreen kiosk where users have very little patience. The PC is not the fastest, but unfortunately I am stuck with that.
