Please help: Using Lightroom 6.1.1 on my mid 2011 iMac (OS X Yosemite), I am for some reason unable to upload iPhone 6 photos into LR.
Once I plug my iPhone into my computer and LR recognizes the device, I get mostly "Preview unavailable for this file" for just about every photo except for a handful. When I try and import the 1000 photos into a folder in LR, nothing happens. All my software is updated. I've tried restarting the computer, etc. and I still get the same result with no photos uploading.
Thanks for your help!
Where are the photos on your iPhone? are they in the Camera Roll? are they raw files?
I'd suggest using Image Capture; import a bunch using that, and then see if those can be added to Lr.
Thanks for your suggestion. I actually just solved the problem by going into iTunes preferences and checking the "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" box. This fixed the problem and all the images from my iPhone are now recognized in the Lightroom import dialog box and were successfully imported. It was a seemingly simply fix, though it took me a very long time to figure this out.
