Why does Indesign keep defaulting to Arabic?

I am using Indesign CC 2014. The dictionary, punctuation, fonts... all keep defaulting to Arabic. When I go to the adobe help page, it shows up in arabic.

I am in the USA, I don't speak a word of arabic, I have no use for it, now or ever. How do I change the defaults to english? Better still, how do I erase any and all traces of arabic? I want it off my computer, permanently.

It is driving me insane, and it's a short drive.
