How do I save a new default template?

    Ken Nielsen Level 1

This should be so simple, but I cannot find the answer, nor am I able to find it under 'save as' so I need to ask again, I think I have already asked this question but now the lead-in page for these forums does not show how I can see my previous questions. Things keep changing and I keep getting older. Help please.

Okay, I managed to find my old question and it did have the answer that you need to click on the little 'hard drive' icon at the top of the new document window. Not easy to know about this unless it is already known about. I will leave this in case someone else needs to know how to do this and tries a search.

            Hi Ken,

do you speak of InDesign template documents with suffix *.indt ?

            A. Save a regular document with Save As and chose "Format: InDesign Template" * (I'm on a German version on Mac OSX, so exact terms could be different)

            B. Rename a regular document from *.indd to *.indt

            C. ?? (Maybe there are more options)

What InDesign version on what OS are you using?

            Uwe
