There are some issues with CC 2015 (After Effects version 13.5.1).
Nobody can know what your issues are without more information from you: FAQ: What information should I provide ?
Thanks for your response. I've never had any problems with AE CC until I installed the recent update. So I was curious If anyone else did not experience difficulties (any in general) until after the last update as well. The specific problem I'm having is after I import my footage, then drag it to the timeline, AE CC advises that it is "mixing audio for preview" and only allows approximately 2 min of footage to the timeline instead of the full 20 min of media I'm attempting to edit. Thanks for your time.
When you say "recent update", do you mean the one to 13.5.1?
What format and codec is the footage you're trying to add?
When you say you're trying to "edit", what do you mean? Premiere Pro is used for editing and After Effects is used more for compositing, adding motion graphics, and animating.
I am also experiencing problems with the latest update of CC 2015 (Version 126.96.36.199) on Mac OSx 10.10.1.
A lot of the problems I had before the update have been fixed, but it seemed to have created another one...
Tuesday, I opened AE and imported a video file exported by one of the editors where I work to use as reference (as I often do since I'm a motion designer in a TV station). And to my surprise, AE only showed me a color bar... No error message.
I've tried multiple formats (mxf, H.264 (both .mp4 and in a .mov), apple ProRes 422HQ) and nothing worked. Since the project was rather urgent, I installed CC 2014 as a workaround.
I even tried files that I had used a week before the update and they did not work anymore.
After a bit of testing, we've found out that the problem seems to appear when files are exported using AME. Any video file coming from any other source works fine.
I was wondering if Adobe was aware of this bug and if we were the only ones having this problem?
** Edit ** Further testing seems to show that even some files exported from AE show color bars when imported back in AE (mostly tested .mov in lossless with alpha (straight and premultiplied))
"When you say "recent update", do you mean the one to 13.5.1?" - Yes.
"What format and codec is the footage you're trying to add?" - H.264 (MPEG-4)
"When you say you're trying to "edit", what do you mean? - Color correcting footage.
I'm going to utilize CC 2014 until the problems with CC 2015 (13.5.1) are solved.
Thanks for your time.
Sounds like we are experiencing the same issues. I appreciate your post and advice.
They do seem similar!
** Edit ** Trying to play with CC 2015 again proved to extend the problem a little further since importing .png and .psd documents gave me color bars as well...
Hoping things get fixed soon, but I am glad that CC gives access to prior versions... It sure saved me this week!
