I'm a novice user of IDcs6. I've formatted a book with several chapters. on the contents page I want to have two fonts in different sizes in the same paragraph. for example chapter number and main title in font 1 and size 1, and the subtitle on the next line in font and size 2, followed by a wider leading before the next chapter heading. My original text is in Word but ID won't import the line spacing in Word or the two fonts. What am I missing? I have Classroom in Book but can't see relevant lesson. Is this to be found in character and paragraph styles or do I make separate text boxes for each line and style? Anyone know a YouTube tutorial that might help?
i'm not using automated ToC -- onlt six entries and fonts are different as chapter heads. I will insert page numbers manually.
Sounds like you should be defining a couple of character styles so you can use them as nested styles in the paragraph style, but why not use ID's built in TOC module? You don't have to use the same style in the TOC and the text (and I generally wouldn't), and you can assign character styles to page number, or use nested styles in the style definition assigned to the listings (including adding space after, if you want it).
Thanks, I'll revisit nested styles...
